Day 8 was full of rolling hills in Ohio. It was an excellent day to ride outside. The morning was beautiful. As the morning progressed, we ended up picking up a little bit of a wind. The wind was a little no beuno for Halle's liking. However, I'm a little used to the wind because when living in the midwest, we encounter wind on a daily basis. The scenery was absolutly amazing today. The trees were so green and so full. They were amazing to look at. Everything was so open too. The roads we took to go to Zanesville, were mostly backroads and we encountered many farms, cows, and unfortunately many roadkill on the side of the road. It was actually pretty sad seeing all of them! May they all rest in peace! :) We arrived to Zanesville at approx. 5:00 p.m. We went and took showers and at a place that was available downtown. Ended the evening with a delicious pot luck Mexican food kind of thing. I loved it! :) We are sleeping in a Presbyterian Church sanctuary tonight. I can officially say now that I have slept in a church. Check that off the bucket list. There was a mother and her daughter that were helping out with the dinner that came back up to the sanctuary after dinner while I was playing my guitar and singing. The little girl's name was Elizabeth. She was absolutely precious. She loved my music and wants to go buy it on iTunes. She even wanted to take a picture with me. I felt famous in Zanesville. Tomorrow I'm riding in the water van. I will be in charge of chalking the road for the rest of the cyclists and setting up water stops along the way. It will be a little less exciting, but it will be nice to give my legs a break. I'm thinking I'm in need of a new bike seat. The one I have on there now is the one the Trek bike came with and it isn't meant for women's tushes. I just found that out. haha Soooo I'm thinking I need to buy a new one ASAP. It will help out so many things for me. It is crazy to think that we have ridden close to 476 miles so far. WOAH! That is a lot of miles! I'm excited for many more to come. Thanks to my teamates for being so supportive and also to my family and friends. I love you all so much!
Day 8 was dedicated to Team Jack. He is a boy that is fighting cancer recently. He is very popular in many of the Husker fan's eyes. He is a trooper who has gone through what most kids don't go through. Continue to fight Jack. You are amazing!
