Day 22 and 23 were spent going through the western part of Illinois. Tomorrow we are going to Iowa and then onto Nebraska. I can't wait! Yesterday was spent by a 73 ish mile day on Father's Day. The ride that day consisted of nasty hills and also some gravel/rock roads. Not my favorite thing to ride on. haha We then went to a city called Freeport, Illinois. We stayed at a Boys and Girls club there. There was scooter races that went down and a little jam fest out side of the building to end the beautiful evening. I had no idea that some of my teammates were SO musically talented. I just found this out the past few weeks and it has been so much fun to jam with them. One guy is amazing at guitar and singing, however he hasn't every performed for people before. Just for family and also his 4K family. :)
Speaking of family, saying we are family is an understatement. We have gotten so close, I can't quite describe it exactly. These amazing people will definitely be my friends for the rest of my life. The memories, the laughs, and the views will forever be remembered.
Day 23 was spent going to Moline, Illinois. This is the national headquarters for John Deere. SAY WHAT????!!! haha we HAD to go to the place to get the full experience. I had to give them a little farming 101. They asked me what a tractor does and etc. I feel so smart talking about this stuff with them. On our way to the wonderful John Deere town was quite the experience though. We had terrible thunderstorms around 11:00 ish so we had to shuttle the team to the host because we wouldn't have made it to the host before dark if we would have waited the storm. I'm kind of glad of this because I haven't been feeling very well the last two days. I have been crazy stuffed up and sore throat action. This has been kind of floating around the team. I think it's a mixture of lack of sleep, long days, probably not enough vitamins and more. I have been taking some medicine so I'm feeling a bit better.
Yesterday was dedicated to Bev Smith and also my Dad. Bev Smith is a cancer fighter who is a huge supporter and helper with the Arapahoe Music Department. My Dad is a huge supporter and I wouldn't be the woman I am today without his guidance and advice. He is truly an amazing man and I love him to death. Thanks for the continuous support and always having an open ear to listen to mef. Even though your advice is always close to 2 hours long, it is always very helpful and I love hearing it.
Today was dedicated to Bob Anderson. He was a strong fighter in the Arapahoe community who unfortunately lost his battle against cancer. He was known to many as a wonderful uplifting man and I remember every week in church for continuous prayers for him and his family. It is great to know however, that he is pain free and happy in a better place up above us all. Bob here is to you and your fight.
We just heard a tornado siren here in Moline. Everybody is kind of in a state of panic. Outside looks horrible. Hopefully tomorrows weather is better than todays.
Tomorrow is Iowa.
Peace out from Moline.
