Woah!!! Day 15 and I already forgot what a hill was. The past few days we have had some pretty flat grounds with an occasional hill. Today we went up a few pretty steep hills. I was a little disappointed in Indiana at those moments. However, the rest of our ride was beautiful fields of corn and my favorite grain. Of course we battled a little bit of wind. Nothing new there! My ride group today was Kyle, Lindsey, and Kevin. This was my first time riding with Kyle. I felt though that we all got to know each other a little bit better after our ride today. It was awesome! It is crazy to think that 15 days ago I didn't even know their names very well and now I know them by heart. Kinda crazy how time flies as well. I'm having a blast on this trip. There is so many little stories that I can't fit them all in this blog. One highlight of the day was getting to jump in this lake. We came down from this steep hill and then we look to the right and all we see is water and a whole bunch of boats on it. Then as we got closer we saw a house with a diving board so of course we all jumped in. It felt amazing! The water was a perf temp for the crazy hot and humid day we had today. We finally made it to a town called Bloomington, Indiana. This is the home of Indiana University. Beautiful campus. Much larger than Fort Hays, but was very cool. We went out to eat tonight at a restaurant across from campus. It felt weird ordering from a menu. Usually we get food donated and we don't really have a choice of what to eat we just eat what is in front of us. Tonight was different. It felt sooo great. We are staying in the campus dorms tonight. I'm pretty stoaked to be sleeping in a bed instead of the floor. Terre Haute is a destination tomorrow. I'm getting more and more excited to get to ride through Nebraska. I saw a pivot for the first time in a long time yesterday. I instantly knew I was getting closer to what I know as the midwest. Today was dedicated to a lady named Rogene Wenburg. She was a math teacher at my high school. Even though I never had her as a teacher of mine, I still know that she was a true warrior in her battle against cancer. She kicked it's butt and now is living life. Day 15 is all to you Mrs. Wenburg!
Peace out from Bloomington!
